Native Missionaries

AMC supports a dedicated group of native missionaries throughout Thailand, Burma, and China.  They are actively and relentlessly growing the Kingdom of God through community outreach and teaching.

Ahpu Nguapha

Ahpu is the director at the Lisu Bible Institute and has dedicated his life to developing Christian leadership in the Lisu community.

THUFASA

Thufasa is one of the leaders at the Lisu Bible Institute and earned his Biblical degree from Putao Christian Bible Seminary in 1976, which is also where he met his wife! In 2011 he earned his Master’s of Divinity at Amos Theological Seminary in Burma. He and his wife have 5 children and 5 grandchildren! He has been in ministry for over 30 years with most of this time being at LBI. Thufasa teaches how to read and write the Lisu language to students as many only know how to speak Lisu. He also teaches classes on Christian doctrine, the life of Christ, the apostles, and early church history. The apostles' life and the epistles are some of his favorite subjects to teach. Aside from teaching, Thufasa is in charge of grounds management and is the Dean of Students at LBI. When classes are not in session, such as on weekends or between semesters, he helps organize teaching seminars to be held at LBI for local Lisu people.

Jay khi

Jay Khi received his Biblical degree from the Eastern Bible Institute which is where he is currently teaching. The school is located in Yangon, which is the largest city in Burma. Jay Khi is married and has two children. In addition to teaching, he also recently planted a church in the city called Lai Tha Ya Christian Church. With his growing congregation, he organizes a Sunday school for non-Christian children. The hope is that the children will share the Gospel message with their parents. Jay Khi travels to northern Burma regularly to teach short term Bible training seminars and summer youth programs.

THOMas, wuzziah & CHARLIE

All three men are teachers at the Myitkyina Bible Seminary, Thomas, Wuzziah and Charlie educate future leaders of the Burmese church. The seminary is located in northern Burma and usually has 40-50 students enrolled. Thomas, a husband and father of two, as well as a graduate of the Mytikyina Bible Seminary himself, teaches World Religions, Basic Theology, and New Testament Theology. Wuzziah, who graduated from a Bible College in India, is teaching Prophets, Life of Christ, and the book of Revelation while also caring for his ailing parents. Charlie, who received his Biblical degree from the Eastern Bible Institute in Burma, is teaching Pastoral epistles and the book of James. His wife passed away a few years ago, but he is still serving faithfully. All three men travel to the Chinese border to conduct leadership training each year.

NGWALISI

Ngwalisi is a graduate of Eastern Bible Institute and works as a pastor at Pamidi church in Myitkyina, Burma. The church building was recently finished and 400-500 people attend here! Ngwalisi is married and has 3 children.

UZZIAH

Uzziah received his Biblical degree from a school in India. He lives with his wife and three children in Shan State, which is just north of Thailand. He is a mission chairman of this area and regularly travels to remote villages in northern Burma, to teach and preach the Gospel to the Akha and Lahu people.
